We have been involved in many of the major construction and infrastructure projects that have significantly changed Israel's landscape, including the Cross Israel Highway, the Ayalon Freeway System, the Maccabim Road, the Jerusalem Light Railway, the Ashdod desalination plant, the Tel Aviv-Jerusalem train line, the construction of a new wing for the Israeli parliament (Knesset), the construction of the Tel Aviv sewage pipeline, the construction of a natural gas pipeline from Ashdod to Dor and the construction of numerous power generating stations, as well as the construction of residential, commercial and industrial centres.

    • Representing Shapir Civil and Marine Engineering Ltd. (Israel's largest civil engineering company) and Impresa Pizzarotti & C. S.p.A, one of Italy's major infrastructure companies, on the construction of the A-1 high-speed railway from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, the first high-speed rail link in Israel
    • Representing the joint venture vehicle of Shapir Civil and Marine Engineering Ltd. and Ashtrom Properties Ltd. (one of Israel's largest construction companies) in their bid to construct the new South Port in Ashdod and the construction of the new Bay Port in Haifa
    • Representing the Israel Electric Corporation on the tender of a project relating to the design, delivery, installation, integration, testing, and operation of a Smart Grid system to enable bi-directional communication to smart meters, in-home display of consumption data, and low voltage power lines
    • Representing the IVM consortium (Minrav Holdings Ltd. and Sacyr Vallehermoso SA) which was successfully awarded the tender to build and operate a seawater desalination plant in Ashdod, on all major legal aspects relating to the project and in particular the terms of the tender/concession awarded to it by Mekorot (the Israeli national water company)
    • Representing Minrav Engineering and Construction Group Ltd. in its agreements with the Rambam Hospital in Haifa relating to a complex high value engineering project that included the construction of a three level underground car park (convertible into a 2,000-bed emergency hospital), two new hospital towers and a system of underground walkways between the various buildings within the hospital
    • Representing Shapir Civil and Marine Engineering Ltd. on the construction of the northern and final extension of Route 6 (Cross Israel Highway), Israel's longest toll road
    • Representing a conglomerate of hundreds of private land owners in a real estate project worth US$ 250 million for the construction of over 400 housing units in the largest residential development currently taking place in Tel Aviv - "Kikar Hamedina" - one of the most prestigious districts of the city of Tel Aviv.  The firm has represented the owners of the project in negotiations with contractors regarding both combination and construction services agreements, and is acting for the land owners in various proceedings against the Municipality of Tel Aviv in connection with the project
    • Representing Sharbiv Ltd., a privately held company specialising in construction of housing and large scale infrastructure, in proceedings instituted against the Israel Land Administration and the Municipality of Haifa for compensation for loss suffered as a result of delay in transferring ownership in certain prime real estate to the client
    • Representing the Weizmann Institute of Science on a number of complex real estate transactions, including acting for the Institute in a combination real estate transaction relating to the construction of the Tamar Science Park (a 25 acre property development) and the planning of a second residential area for the Institute's scientists
    • Providing on-going counsel and project advice to the Paz Group, Israel's largest oil and gas company, including advising on a joint venture for the construction of a commercial centre at Kibbutz Ein Gedi
    • Representing the State of Israel on Israel's largest BOT Project – the Cross Israel Highway (Cvish 6), including concerning the northern extension of the toll road (which extended the road by a further 50%) and on the mezzanine debt offerings made by the concessionaire of the project
    • Representing Israel Infrastructure Fund, the first Israeli private equity fund specialising in infrastructure related projects and the major shareholder of Dalia Power Energies Ltd., in connection with the design and construction of a private gas powered station in Tel Tzafit and the production and sale of electricity from two gas turbines with a net aggregate capacity of 834 MW
    • Representing Bank Hapoalim and Bank Leumi in connection with the financing, re-financing and monitoring of the Jerusalem Light Railway BOT project (Israel’s only light railway project), including acting on the following:

     

    (i) various disputes relating to the project with the concessionaire;

    (ii) negotiations with the concessionaire and the Government on proposed legislation that would affect the railway; and

    (iii) other material issues that affected the full operation of the project

     

    • Representing Parsons Brinckerhoff, advisers and consultants to the Tel Aviv municipality in connection with the construction of the Tel Aviv Light Railway (including with regard to the design, manufacture, supply, testing, commissioning and maintenance of light rail vehicles for Tel Aviv)
    • Representing the Israel Electric Corporation on the tender process for the engineering, procurement, supply and supervision of the installation and commissioning of 3 power plant units to be built in the Negev
    • Representing Supergas Israel Gas Distribution Co. Ltd. in connection with its bid for the construction and operation of a natural gas distribution system for the South of Israel
