    We have particular expertise acting on claims involving product liability, fidelity insurance, director and officer coverage, professional indemnity, life insurance, commercial risk, health coverage, executive liability and antitrust issues. We have extensive experience negotiating, arbitrating and litigating insurance coverage disputes as well as defending insurers in individual and class actions against allegations of breach of good faith and fair dealing, violations of Israeli insurance regulations, fraud and unfair competition. The team often works together with international law firms on cross-border insurance related claims.

    • Representing HDI-Gerling Industrie Versicherung AG (a subsidiary of the HDI-Gerling Property & Casualty Insurance Group, one of Europe's largest insurance companies, specialising in industrial insurance), in several multi-million dollar claims under certain insurance policies underwritten by HDI
    • Representing AXA Corporate Solutions Deutschland, in a claim filed by Israel Aircraft Industries against an AXA insured concerning alleged defects in products manufactured by the insured
    • Representing Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty AG (an Allianz SE subsidiary, and a world leader in corporate insurance) in its subrogated defence of its insured, Wacker-Chemi GmbH, a leading German chemical manufacturer, in a product liability claim concerning the chemicals manufactured by the insured
    • Advising Lloyd's - Ark Syndicate Management Limited, a group of underwriters, regarding various claims from Israeli employees insured via an employee insurance policy maintained by Rafael, Israel's leading developer of arms-related technology
    • Representing Hyundai Heavy Industries Co. Ltd. and its subsidiary Hyundai Corporation, in a subrogation claim brought by Migdal Insurance Company Ltd. for the reimbursement of insurance benefits paid to the purchaser (Noga Paz Omega 1) of a product manufactured by Hyundai
    • Representing Phoenix Insurance Company Ltd., Israel's largest insurance company, on various matters, including representing Phoenix:

     

    (i) in a class action filed against it in connection with alleged overcharging of building insurance premia that is required to be obtained as a condition to obtaining a mortgage by various mortgage companies; and

    (ii) in proceedings to set aside a tender issued by Israel Railways Corporation Ltd. that was awarded to Harel Insurance Company Ltd. The tender related to the largest, in value, insurance policy to be taken by Israel Railways. As a result of these proceedings, the original tender was set aside and a new tender, which Phoenix won, was issued

     

    • Representing Maccabi Health Services in a multitude of claims in the following general areas: claims filed against Maccabi by its insureds regarding coverage for various medical procedures and medications; class actions filed against it in tort; proceedings between it and medical professionals accused of negligence
    • Representing Tryg, a Danish company and the second largest general insurer in the Nordic region, in connection with a series of international arbitration claims amounting to approximately US $80 million
    • Representing Isolcell S.p.A, an Italian manufacturer of devices that absorb gases used in refrigeration creating a controlled atmospheric environment, and its insurance company in connection with a claim filed against it arising from defective machinery
    • Representing Dagon-Beatty (the owner of the main grain and cargo silos in the ports of Haifa and Ashdod) in respect of various insurance claims arising from damage caused by the occasional unloading of toxic cargo unloaded at the port and/or stored in silos.  The firm also represented Dagon in proceedings commenced against Haifa Port Company Ltd. and Israel Phoenix Insurance Company Ltd.
